Dangerous storms

Storms are more than just strong wind. Storms can be loud and scary! Some storms are very dangerous. Check out these storms!

Thunderstorms bring lightning, thunder and rain. They often happen in the summer.

Blizzards are very heavy snowstorms. They bring cold, strong winds and lots of snow. Blizzards often happen in North America.

Sometimes, there is no snow, but hail: Pieces of ice that fall from the sky. Hail can be very big and can do a lot of damage!

In a tornado, the air twists in a circle, so they are sometimes called “twisters”. If a tornado starts over water, they are called “hurricanes”.
