Animal houses

Some of us live in houses, some in flats. Animals have homes, too – and some are really cool! They are underground or up in the trees. Check out these animal houses!

In the forest, you can see anthills. The ants keep their food, eggs and their young ants inside. The queen ant has her own chamber.

Foxes live underground. Their houses are called burrows. Young foxes grow up inside the burrow.

Everyone knows that birds build nests. But did you know that orangutans sleep in nests too? They are safe and happy up in the trees.

Snails are really smart! They carry their house on their back! Even baby snails have a little shell. It grows as the snail gets bigger.
